Maxim: Medicare for All enhances the free market of medical care.
Alternative Maxims: The free market of health insurance is contrary to the free market of medical care. Medicare for All lets medical providers compete for your care rather than health insurance companies.
Purpose: To rebut claim that Medicare for All is government run healthcare. To give it a market-based rationale that may appeal to libertarian / small government types.
Effect: Attention grabbing because it is contrary to conventional wisdom and conservative messaging. Use of the term “syndicate” evokes mafia connotation.
Explained: Currently, medical consumers are largely constrained to “in-system” providers. The constrainers are, of course, insurance companies, which skim profits. Medicare for All sets consumers free to choose any medical provider and sets medical providers free to compete against each other for any consumer.
